July 29th, 2013 - THE GRAND SEXTILE -

  This chart was done at sunrise for July 29th, 2013 in Colorado, USA. (Mountain Daylight Time)

     Otherwise known as the Star of David.  A trine (triangle) formation is created when 3 planets form this shape, all being in the same elemental signs (all in water, or fire, earth or air signs.)  When you have 2 sets that overlap (as you can see in the chart for the 29th), this makes a 6-pointed star - this is called the Star of David!  The Star of David is a 3 dimensional perspective on the Star Tetrahedon or Mer Ka Bah ( the vehicle for ascension.)

      It is composed of 6 sextiles (friendly energy between the planets), 6 trines (friendly, same element), and 3 oppositions.  There are 7 planets involved and they are all in feminine signs.  This symbolizes the return of feminine energy to the planet.

  It is a very powerful formation, and the two trines are in water signs (Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces) & earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus & Virgo).  So the focus will be on our emotions and practical life - our earth and how we manifest within the material world.  We will be more sensitive to what the earth needs for her well-being as well as what we need for ours. What dreams do we want to fulfill?  What is our intuition telling us?

     This is a feminine energetic event reminding us to balance the male-run planetary logos with sensibility and understanding that love and compassion for ourselves and our planet is necessary for our survival.  We should not discount our emotional sides - our feminine intuition, but instead use it as a vehicle (Mer Ka Bah) for our higher evolution.

     The 3 oppositions:  Mars/Jupiter opposes Pluto (resistance of the powers that be to change), Moon opposes Saturn (desire to move through obstacles or  be emotionally trapped by restriction), & Venus opposes Neptune (facing our deeper emotions and addressing our desires as they may affect the whole.)

    This is a rare solar eclipse in which the Sun and Moon conjunct Pleiades.  Conjunctions mean all bodies involved appear in the same area in the sky, sometimes in exact degrees, which is the strongest point of a conjunction.  Effects of this alignment can vary depending on which planets are involved.

   Pleiades is also known as "The Seven Sisters" as there are 7 main visible stars.  It is situated in the constellation of Taurus.   Alcyone, it's main star, is said to be a sister star to our own Sun.  Many believe Alcyone holds the Akashic Records.  Many tribes on Earth say they originated from Pleiades, such as the Cherokee, Hopi, and Mayan.  Information from channeled sources say the Pleiadesns are in our future. They know what we are going through as they have been there themselves.

   In the summertime, when we are looking at the Milky Way, we are actually looking at our galaxy.  Somewhere between Scorpio and Sagittarius constellations is Galactic Center.   In winter and spring while the view of the Milky Way is in the Southern Hemisphere, we can see Pleiades in the Northern Hemisphere.  When we are looking at Pleiades, we are actually looking at the outer rim of the galaxy as the Pleiades system is further from Galactic Center than our solar system is.  It is in the opposite direction from where we are.   Pretty amazing, if we realize what it is we are looking at.

   With the Sun and Moon accenting that area of the sky, I'd say this will be a time for us to remember our star heritage, and open up communications/channels to the beings that live in this system.  The Sun and Moon will be leaving the sign of Taurus and entering into Gemini.  Gemini is ruled by Mercury - the messenger of the Gods - so be prepared to get intuitive information, or messages in your dreams.  It is a good time to communicate to your guides in prayer and meditation.

   Venus recently passed close to Pleiades on April 3, 2012, with Jupiter nearby.   It is important to note when so many major influences are situated in the same area of the sky that this is telling us something.

   Sun represents our personalities and the moon our emotions.  Pleiades represents our past and our future.  It is time to integrate ourselves in the present and bring that awareness into our every day lives, that we are part of a cosmic family & history and our future is more than just continuing on the same path we've been on for the last 5000 years.  A new cosmology is revealing itself.  I would not be surprised if there was an increase in UFO sightings that weekend!  Keep looking up!

CURRENT ASTRONOMICAL ALIGNMENTS

Summer of 2010

    June thru Sept of 2010.

        We have an action packed summer ahead of us.

        We have a major conjunction, a powerful opposition,

            a lunar and solar eclipse,  and a Grand Cross alignment. 

        All of this occurs within the next 3 months!!

        The major players are Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, Pluto and the Moon.

So, what is a conjunction?

    A conjunction occurs when 2 or more planets come very close to each other, taking up the same area in the sky, and the same exact position in the zodiac.  You can see these conjunctions in the night skies.  Conjunctions in astrology have much impact depending on the planets involved.

    What is an opposition?

    When 2 or more planets are in opposite positions in the sky, this is called an opposition.  In astrology, they will be in opposite signs.  Oppositions have the same effect as any opposition would have - a tendency towards opposing energies that conflict with each other.  Oppositions also work towards mirroring to us what needs to be addressed.  Ultimately the goal of an opposing energy is to find a way to ally the two opposing dynamics.  Instead of having that energy work against you, you can find a way for it to work for you.

    And then there’s the Grand Cross:

  Imagine a medicine wheel with a cross in it,  a cross of equal positioning within the circle.  When you have four or more planets sitting on each of those 4 points, in this equal configuration, that is called a Grand Cross.  Grand meaning all the positions are in the same exact degrees with each other, though they will be in different signs, with some signs in opposition of each other.  This is a very significant alignment for initiations and breakthroughs.

    Now this alignment is unique as all the signs on the major points are in Cardinal signs! Cardinal means generating new energy, movement, cataclyzing events.  The beginning...

   June  8th - JUPITER/URANUS conjunction

    Two words come to mind when I think of this pairing - BIG CHANGES!

    Jupiter is moving from a water sign into a fire sign - Aries .  The sign of new beginnings - seeds germinating - raw energy springing forth!  Where we were dreaming of the big projects ahead, now the energy is there for us to go forward and manifest those ideas.  Jupiter is a large enough mass in our solar system to have great impact on our planet.  Next to the sun, I believe it the next biggest affector in our lives.  These outer planets always  effect societies, as well as individuals.

    Whereas Uranus is more into individualistic expression, it is connected to the larger community actions.  Eccentricity is associated with Uranus, as well as our computer technologies - communication across long distances.  I think we will see even more amazing technological advances coming thru this conjunction, with Jupiter- the great manifestor callng forth the energies needed for inventive (Uranus) endeavors.  Maybe they will finally come up with an idea to stop the oil leak in the Gulf during this conjunction! 

    Uranus is associated with quick, impetuous movements, so be on the lookout for sudden changes, a need to move, or unexpected events.  There may be upheavals in societies with great government dominance.  Rebelling against authority.

    The last time this conjunction occurred in a cardinal sign, similar to Aries, was 1969.  What a summer that was .  The summer of love - where suddenly people yearned for a more idealistic society based on love and cooperation.  We also went to the moon that year, and social upheaval was climaxing around the Vietnam war.  Do you see any correlation with our current society’s concerns?  We have an ecological disaster  going on in the Gulf of Mexico, concerns over the wars we are involved with in the Middle East, and our own economic woes.  It is time for our society to try some new solutions, working together for a more sustainable future.  This conjunction can ignite more rebellion against authority - dissatisfied citizens ready to call to the forefront all the inequities going on around us.  We will see larger groups of people protesting and confronting those that run things to start being considerate of the community.

    An interesting note,  Jupiter & Uranus were conjunct at the time of the start of the Revolutionary War!  This can be a revolutionary catalyst!!

    Also, in 1969, there was a big oil spill that woke people up and they started being more aware we need to take better care of our planet.  This catalyst eventually led to the creation of Earth Day!

    Putting together the fire energy from Aries & Jupiter, and the air quality of Uranus, we may see some major fires come up suddenly, whether it’s a fiery volcano, or forest fires (since it is the season.)

    You may feel it’s time to travel, or move to a new location, or possibly a location further away then you live now.  It’s time to expand our horizons!!

I find it synchronistic that I put my new website “Cosmic Horizons” up just as we are entering this configuration - confirming to me my intention of expanding your horizons with this site.

    Jupiter is considered the success, or good luck planet.  With Uranus being into freedom, and new adventures, look for some unexpected prosperity, good luck, and breaking free from restrictive circumstances; or at least the desire to do so.  We still are contending with the Pluto/Saturn influences which are also addressing breaking through our resistances and obstacles to reach a more expanded view of ourselves and our lives.

    This conjunction is just the beginning of the line up to the grand cross which will happen from June 26 - Aug. 21, and will also include a Pluto/Saturn opposition and a lunar/solar eclipse.

    This is our PLANETARY WAKE UP CALL!

    I will come back to write more on this alignment.  I just wanted to give you the first opening energies as we are approaching this conjunction next week on Tuesday, and already are close enough in degrees to really feel the effect.

    I am always open to anyone commenting on what is going on for them during these significant times. We are in a historical time of our society, and with the 2012 alignment coming up, we may all find a way to understand these waves of energies coming through and how they effect our community and our individual lives.  Just know, that whatever is going on, many are experiencing the same thing.  And you can be on either side of that spectrum, folks.

   I felt this sense of a different wave of energy today.  I wanted to share it with you.

  As I study the current rate of changes and stress on our planet, and yet see the positive, unfoldment of some people's lives, I realize that this cosmic event is not unfolding as one intense energy!  There is the yin/yang - balance between the counter forces of negativity and positivity.  

  The energy is being magnified by our thoughts and attitudes and is coming in waves.  Of course!  That makes perfect sense to me.  It's a natural rhythm of life.  Visualize the ocean, with its waves coming to shore only to be pulled back again from the undertow.  And it is the undertow that gives our waves their momentum.   Expansion and contraction. Breathing in, then breathing out. The contractions of a baby being born, intensity then release.

  So why wouldn't such an important, transformational time on our planet not have that same balancing rhythm?   Is there a birthing going on in all this chaos?  Then we must learn to breathe through it.

  Sometimes life seems stressful and overwhelming with no way to fix it, and it feels like death is coming - and then the next moment something wonderful is happening, new horizons are opening up to our awareness, and we feel a positive life-infusing connection.  It's all in balance.  And as long as we remember this we can handle the different waves as they come in.  In these times we must learn to be good surfers, and in synch with these waves.

   As an astrologer, I observe and take note of patterns going on around me in my own life, as well as other people's lives. When there is a synchronicity between a larger group, I can see the broader implications of the current energies and not take it all so personally, and also realize that I can get in on it.  I believe we are going through a very real death/re-birth moment in our planetary society at this current time.

   For the moment, though, I'm seeing a releasing going on. Wonderful, new adventures are opening up for some, while others are in the process of letting go.  I experienced a sweet blessing today, that showed me all is not as "bad" as it seems.  There is something loving existing amongst the chaos of life!

  We are at a crossroads in our  time, where the choice can be a destructive outcome, or a constructive  outcome - a re-birth.  I have definitely felt and seen the destructive aspect of these cosmic influences, but lately, I am becoming acutely aware of their counterpart.  The blessings, the growth, the alternating waves of  fulfillment and miracles.  It helps to know as we feel our quickening that  something is being born, and the rhythm that we are in, has it's natural flow.  

  The light and the blessings are always there, even in our darkest hours.  It is always darkest before the dawn.
